This Web Site is an attempt to document a personal journey in the hobby of Astrophotography from a beginning until the present in the hope that it will inspire others to take up this facinating hobby. Comet Lulin above is an example of what a lucky amateur can capture from a backyard. I have also included some tips for beginners, the result of a number of brusing experiences.

There are many superior images out there, but these are mine and all taken from a city suburban backyard! Little comes close to the satisfaction of capturing an image of a deep space object for the first time. There is real magic out there.

Once begun, this side of amateur astronomy completely absorbs you and is addictive. I have been fortunate in having a very understanding family.
